About the Squad

Renowned for their explosive live performances, they've garnered international acclaim. They have performed for audiences at festivals like the Edinburgh Fringe, WOMADelaide, Woodford, WOMAD (UK), Boomtown (UK), and Dranouter (Belgium), while also clinching multiple folk awards, including South Australia’s Peoples’ Choice Award for folk in 2023 and 2024.

Over the last 12 months, they've taken their eclectic sound from Berlin clubs to British drum and bass festivals, and regional RSLs across Australia. Their latest release "Baby Don't F*** With Me" blends folk and R&B, boasting addictive hooks and an unparalleled level of groove. With tunes that traverse a unique soundscape of circusesque soul, hip-hop, and heartfelt ballads, their musical versatility knows no bounds. Hamilton City Council and its Museum team have come together to bring Hamiltonians a fun day out in the spirit of commemorating our country’s history and in celebration of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

There’ll be food trucks, live music, weaving workshops, and puppet shows for the kids. Enjoy guided riverside history tours to learn about paa sites, gallery tours focused on Waitangi, and after-hours activities.

We’re turning the lawn at Garden Place into a lively circus zone, offering free family-friendly sessions where kids and whānau can explore circus skills in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

What to Expect:
Circus tutors who can teach you juggling, hula hooping, spinning plates, and more!

A drop-in experience—stay for 5 minutes or the full 2.5 hours.
Activities for all ages and skill levels.

This event is hosted by the talented team at Black Sheep Circus Entertainment and proudly supported by Creative Waikato and the Love the Centre.

Participants can look forward to learning skills such as juggling, hula hooping, spinning plates, and more, with all equipment provided on-site. These free sessions are designed to promote community connection while supporting physical and mental wellbeing in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Come along and be part of the magic—no tickets, no pressure, just plenty of fun under the summer sun!
